Experimentations/ Further Process
The first thing I did was gather all my photos and start to edit them in Lightroom. After touching them up in Lightroom, picking the right adjustments for the lighting, highlight, whites etc. Next step which was the hardest also, was to edit them in photoshop. I'm still learning how photoshop works, what tools do what etc. At the end it somehow turned out to what I wanted it to be. Firstly I played around with the size of the cropped photo (how big should it be, should I increase it or decrease it). Then I started to layout out different parts of the facial features creating one face. I had to think about the proportions of each cropped photo and where would be the best fit for it. I also had to remember about the layering, if I wanted this photo to go there will it cover that section of the face?

Meaning
The meaning behind "Equality" is truly based on racism. The abstract face that I created using various different photos from different facial features given from a different person, represents how we, humans no matter what we look like, no matter what colour skin tone we have we should have all equal rights, we should all be treated with respect. Unfortunately to this day we find racist people all round the world. In America, 49 % of Americans think that racism is a "big problem", which is saddening because America is one of the most diverse countries out there. So many lives were lost due to this problem, wars were fought many areas ago but till this day there are people out their on the streets fighting for their equality, We live in a modern era where we should move past all issues related to discrimination, but as we can see that's not the case. We are creating bigger gaps between multi racial communities, becoming more closed in to our culture rather then sharing our culture with others and vice versa. We are pulling further away from each other. Let's learn from history rather then repeat the mistakes all over again.
Inspiration
My inspiration for this project is David Hockney. He is originally a painter but he decided to try taking pictures with a Polaroid and created images that he stacked them together creating squared photos that were taken at a slight different angle then the first photo and created a sort of collage. What he wanted to show through his unusual work was how photographs can only show one point of view for a small period of time. As David said himself "All photographs share the same flaw,” he says. “Lack of time.” My cultural movement inspiration is Cubism. It inspired me in my work to cut out the facial features into different sizes and shapes of squares and rectangles, resulting in abstract looking faces.

Reflection
Since I'm not quite yet a master in Photoshop it took me some time to figure out what tool does what, but at the end it all somehow worked. I looked at some videos on YouTube to help me out with figuring out the tool brushes. Another thing I struggled with was keeping in mind where I would place each layer so they could coexist with each other rather then one thing being oddly placed in a spot where it would stick out rather then be tucked in under layers and slightly showing off the thing it was suppose to display.
Reflecting on this topic of racism, it shocks me till this day how there's such a high rate of racism everywhere (specifically look at US), it's a very divided country with so many racial problems, all protest that are happening today, there should be less of them. Our ancestors fought for peace but seeing what is happening out there no one has learned from the past. We need to change ourselves first..then the world.

ACT Questios
1. Clearly explain how you are able to identify the cause-effect relationships between your inspiration and its effect upon your artwork.
With photography I can explain the issues that are going on in todays world, through these faces show the problem that is running through out streets which is racism. My inspiration is David Hockney and Cubism, David inspired me to connect different parts and facial features from different people, while Cubism inspired me to connect these images into different squares and rectangles.
2. What is the overall approach (point of view) the author (from your research) has regarding the topic of your inspiration?
The artist did not specifically talk about the topic of racism, however seeing his photos inspired me to focus on it.
3. What kind of generalizations and conclusions have you discovered about people, ideas, cultures, etc. while you researched your inspiration?
That there is a high percentage of racism in America till this day 49% say its a "big problem" while 33 say its "somewhat of a problem".
4. What was the central idea or theme around your inspirational research?
I wanted to use my own art piece to bring attention to the topic of racism. This issue greatly touches a lot of multi racial families in todays society and I wanted to highlight the point that no matter what we look like, we should be treated equally with respect.
5. What kind of inferences (conclusions reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning) did you make while reading your research?
With these photos I took I wanted to add my own viewpoint to this issue and I myself have learned the high rates of racism in America .
