Photojournalism
I chose an event that happened while I was in visiting this summer Warsaw. A lot of events, protests are going on now in Poland due to the new government. The president and the party he is associated with which are very conservative, want to change the constitution their by controlling seeking more control over the media and other publications. That's why a group K.O.D. ( Committee of defense for democracy) was created. Their mission is:
"We are ordinary people from all over Poland, people who will not accept evil, lies or violation of the law." - KOD
I went to one of their protests, which was called "Czarny Protest" ( black protest). It took place in front of the parliament. People wore all black and had their lips sealed with a piece of black tape in the shape of an X. Symbolizing that the government is taking away their right to speak, not acknowledging what the people have to say.
For my second photo project I chose a lighter theme, "Kale's view" which shows a day in the life of my dog, the world from her perspective. My inspiration for this work is Frankie Chan. He photographs from the perspective of his cat. Since I don't have a cat I used my dog Kale instead, I went out and took photos of how she views the world.
